This big, beautiful girl is a whole year old, and as I was looking through her photos, I really and truly found myself wishing that every baby could be this loved, this content, this trusting on their first birthday.  The way Sophie laughed when her dad tossed her in the air shows she knows she'll be caught.  When the wind blew cold, she leaned in to her momma who is always there to comfort her.  When she wasn't ready to smile for a photo, she knew it was safe to bury her face--that no one would make her do anything she wasn't ready for.  May 2015 bring all the babies in the whole world a year just like Sophie's first--and may we all do our part in that fight.
